Really well written piece that manages to crystallize and preserve a snapshot of the current ideological Internet scene of the 'white left' [perhaps even beyond this particular commentator]. I have to admit I was immediately struck by the bold, stolid declaration in the preamble of how seriously we should take American leftists who fall for the shenanigans of undialectical, anarchistic frauds. Props to you and the Infrared Collective for systematically elucidating and dissecting the distortions and premise-less conclusions that we have all too often seen from fanatical Twitter whirlwinds where reason is discarded for 'team sports'. I am interested to see what response or counterpoints this piece elicits although I dread the dissolution of the critique into the parroting of already addressed points and the usual veiled racial comments about Arab men.

The author (Haz) is from a Lebanese Shia background whose family fled Kataeb. According to Pew Research: "nowhere are there more negative feelings [toward America] than among the Shia population of Lebanon; not a single respondent in a recent Pew Research survey expressed a favorable opinion of the U.S. An overwhelming 98% of Lebanese Shia have negative views of America." Yet, because he's an American, living in America, as a Marxist-Leninist, he recognizes the importance of being an American patriot. Source for study: http://pewrsr.ch/UNibVx

Faux MLs exposed. It is especially fitting that these particular anti-imperialists, Luna Oi and Hakim, are the ones being lit up. As natives of nations that have fallen victim to US imperialism, they give off an illusion of credibility on the issue, and with it lead the charge of their white, western leftist audiences. Now the counter-movement against American patriotism is running headless. GORILLAS ON THE MOVE!

I agree mostly with your arguments rejecting this form of ultra-leftism and its manifestations abroad (or rather those who are abroad and insert themselves into American discourse).

I would love to hear more about a program for the rural communists in the US, like myself. Land redistribution seems like it could be entirely necessary for the rural proletariat and I would love to hear your findings on the subject.

I also think delving into home ownership rates in China compared to US would be an interesting subject discuss with the subject of American socialist patriotism.
